Body Types

Im a pininterest fan so while i was looking on there for recipes, I came across a website that spoke of body types and best ways to lose weight for each one.

http://www.brainyweightloss.com/three-body-types.html#axzz1hIh5J25n

So this is new info for me but apparently theres the three types, the endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph. Though it should be obvious for some reason i hadn't realized the differences in body types even among my friends, i can't look like (insert name here) bc her body is different than mine and things that work for her aren't going to work for me.

Soo heres a synopsis of what i read, if y'all don't want to to the website but id recommend it, it had a lot of interesting info:

  • Endomorph would be the body type of JLo, Kate Winslet, and Drew Barrymore
    • Wide hips wide shoulders and softer curves, easy to gain weight but hard to keep it off.
    • Diet should be 30% complex carbs so starchy vegetables, brown rice, and whole grains, about 45% protein so chicken/turkey breast, lean beef, and whey protein (which I'm not sure what that is) and about 25% healthy fats and sources of omega 3 so seafood.
    • Also eat every 2-3 hrs to boost metabolism (Def not been doing that)
    • Strenght training 3-4 times a week with higher intensity
    • Aerobic exercise should be 45 min 5-6 times a week
  • Mesomorph would be the body type of Madonna, Jessica Alba, and Alyssa Milano
    • Naturally muscular build and large bone structure
    • Diet should be 45% complex carbs, 35% from proteins and up to 20% from healthy fats and omega 3s
    • Strength training light circuit training or body weight workouts 2-3 times a week
    • Aerobic exercise 3-5 times a week at 30-45 mins
  • Ectomorph would be the body type of Eva Longoria, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Clair Danes
    • long thing limbs and small joints with small waist and narrow shoulders
    • Diet should be 55% complex carbohydrates, 30% proteins and up to 15% of healthy fats.
    • Strenght training daily with moderate-heavy intensity split routine, working parts of your body alternatively and individually with body weight workouts
    • Aerobic exercise should be 15-30 min 3 times a week
Now it seems so obvious, how someone healthy isn't defined in just one standard and tho i am using celebrities to define these body types its not to say that these bodes are perfect but rather a visual to relate to. With a little more insight maybe this won't be as hard as i thought it would be.

Its time for a change.

So im 22 yrs old and ppl should be healthy and proud of their self image at this point in their life right? Im not, I don't have the body i want, and don't get me wrong i don't want to have the model body but i want to be healthy. Not be ashamed to wear a swimsuit in public, not afraid that my shorts are too short and people are criticizing my legs for cellulite. Now i know ill never be able to wear a shirt without a bra, even with loosing the weigh the genetics of big boobs come in the family. I had been "trying" to eat healthy for about 2 months, and the first month i didn't lose weigh but i did lose inches, my clothes were fitting me better. I was taking a dancing class and enjoying every minute of it. But then the class ended and i just got lazy. I wasnt eating correctly anymore, i either eat too little only one meal a day or eating too much of junk food.
So here goes round 2, Im going to start working out more, i need to make sure I'm exercising everyday to keep my energy and mood up, thats something i did realize my sleeping patterns were a lot better and i was more alert and on top of my obligations. Im going to eat healthy, more veggies and less processed foods.
Today is the day i say goodbye to the old me and hello to a new healthier version of me. I started using Loseit App on my phone to track my calories and exercise. I got the zumba wii, I have no excuses to use now. Im going to fight sadness with working out and better food. Hopefully i keep at it to be who i know i am inside.

Defining the title

So the title of my blog is from a poem my grandpa used to say, translated to english it means traveler there is no pathway you must create one as you walk. Its been the best advice anyone could have ever said to me, funny thing is i never met my grandfather he passed away years before i was born but his advice has been passed down to even his great grandchildren. Now I'm the receiver of a lot of advice, seems like everyone sees something in me i can improve. To justify they all mean well and i don't do anything to stop their "kind" words but I never want to hurt anyone so i just accept it. The one I've hated the most was Life isn't fair, tho true a 7 or 8 yr old shouldn't have to hear that, especially from your father. Lets just say my life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park, but it has made me who i am today (which by the way I'm still not sure who she is) also you know as I've gotten to know people i think everyone has had a hard life, our generation has had some screwed up situations. not exactly sure its because its our generation or because we are more willing to accept and talk about it. now I'm not an aspiring writer of any sort but being able to talk about the things that keep me up at night seemed like a good idea at the time.

just as a warning, I'm not a grammar nazi and if incorrect grammar and run ons offend you i apologize in advance.
